MEET THE HEROES

Avery Culpepper

Registered Nurse, Virginia

Avery works as an emergency room nurse at a Level 1 trauma center in Roanoke.

She has worked there for the past 13 months serving patients, growing in her skills, and developing relationships with her co-workers.

Avery graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing degree from the University of Tulsa in May 2019 and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (nursing honor society). During her four years of college, she was a committed athlete on the university’s Division 1 cross country and track team.

Avery has been on the front-line caring for all types of patients including those with COVID-19. As an ER nurse, Avery is confronted with patients who need care immediately, and may not be aware they have COVID. She must take the necessary precautions to care for these patients while keeping herself, her fellow colleagues, as well as all the other patients safe, some of them at high risk. She has continued to persevere and care for her patients even through the long days, and sleepless nights.

We thank Romantique Jewelers a member of the Royal Chain Group, and Kristin, a friend of Avery’s who went to nursing school with her, for nominating Avery Culpepper.

Aquamarine, one of the most beautiful subtle blues in the world of gemstones, is also Avery’s birthstone.
